Bioagora presents the new programme for 2011 edition

11/10/2011

This year Bioagora expands its offer for the conferences that will take place November 9 & 10 at the Hesperia Tower Hotel.  The meeting place for investors, agents of knowledge and companies wants to enlarge the variety and additional services that can be found on the spot, giving response to the various needs that may arise from the different agents in the technology transfer.

The conferences, beginning on 9th at five o´clock in the afternoon, will have their first high point at the round table entitled the economy of knowledge. It will be immediately after the opening ceremony and they will discuss on the new model of conceiving knowledge as the product itself. The exchange of opinions about this subject will be continued in the dialogue on scientific thinking led by the neurologist López Barneo and Eudald Carbonell, director of the Institute of Human Paleoecology and Social Evolution.

The Bioagora conferences will be on 10th all day long and the most outstanding ones are the round table on science parks as an environment for business – with the presence of Francesc Ribera (Chamber of Commerce), Andrés G. Fernández (Laboratories Ferrer) and Fernando Albericio (Director of Barcelona Science Park) – and the round table on business models and success stories – with Joan Gil (Coordinator of the Apoptosis & Cancer Group at the Bellvitge Biomedical Research Institute) and  J. Kulisevsky (Director of the Sant Pau Hospital Research Institute), among others.

Furthermore, Bioagora will present in the time periods between the formal launches a wide networking space with a great variety of service offers and activities. Besides the free individualized advising for professionals specialized in related subject areas – such as legal consulting, communication, appraisal or preparation of business plans –  with previous seat reservation through the web Bioagora 2011, the edition of 2011 has two notable innovations.

The first one will be the micro-workshops of about half an hour which will be held during the intermissions. They will help train the attendees in a specific subject and in a very synthetic way. This is the case of the Workshop of Presentations 2.0 that will be executed by DivuCiencia – which wants to facilitate the use of new communication tools like Twitter – for self-introduction and the exhibition of projects in a practical and dynamic way. Another workshop will be dedicated to persuasive management. The Lead Learning Lab will be responsible for explaining their philosophy to improve the ability to inspire confidence, convey authenticity and construct meaning through dialogue.

The presentation video cards will also be among the innovations. Bioagora will set a specific space for all attendees to be able to quickly make a card right in the very bosom of the conference. The goal is to provide everyone with the chance to publicize their activities as professionals and boost the networking through a document that will remain accessible throughout the event and in the virtual Bioagora. It can be used as a personal card in any other circumstances as well.
