Within the framework of the European Regions of Knowledge Work Programme (FP7), Biopol has submitted a proposal to the Eurobiomarkers project. This initiative aims to support and encourage the cooperation of the following four ‘research-driven clusters’ across Europe: Alsace (France), Negev (Israel), Piedmont (Italy) and Biopol'H (Catalonia). The objective of this project is to improve the competitiveness of health-related industries and enterprises in each region. Special attention is paid to biomarkers focusing on personalized therapies for central nervous system diseases and cancer.
In order to join one of the European Regions of Knowledge and to participate in this call, the Biopol'H Consortium, Ferrer International Laboratories and the Bellvitge Institute for Biomedical Research (IDIBELL) have signed a collaboration agreement that aims to turn the Biopol area, where these entities are located, into an international reference in the science and technology field. These three entities will promote collaboration and cooperation in research, development and innovation between public and private sectors in strategically important areas in the field of health.
