Dos de Mayo Hospital has initiated a new procedure to visit the doctor online meant for all users with diabetes of the Department of Endocrinology. It is an innovative service that allows the visit to be conducted virtually without the patient personifying at the center.

The procedure is simple. The day of the appointment, after having a first visit with the endocrinologist, the patient of diabetes sends their data of control, glycemia and insulin to the person of reference at the center either via email or through a computer application specifically created to record this data. Once the service receives them, these are assessed by the endocrinology team who then adjusts the diet, the exercise recommendations or the drug treatment based on the results. The user gets the adjustments through email or with a SMS message to their cell phone. This way of treatment is indicated for patients with type 1 diabetes.

The aim of this new service is the follow-up of this chronic disease interferes as less as possible to the user’s personal and professional life. With this mechanism the level of adherence to the treatment and monitoring of controls increases.
