Expectancy and good entrepreneurial reception in the presentation of Biopol

08/10/2009

More than 45 entrepreneurs attended the breakfast-symposium held at the Hesperia Tower Hotel and organized by the Fòrum Empresarial del Baix Llobregat to see first-hand all the details about BIOPOL, an ambitious project structured as a pole of knowledge management and innovation, necessary in order to meet the changing economic and social cycle.

Ramon López, director of the BIOPOL Consortium, was responsible for informing them about all the details of this innovative project.

The objectives, challenges, the transformation of the territory and the current status and future of BIOPOL were the key questions that focused the presentation.

Among its many objectives, BIOPOL seeks to facilitate the interaction between science, administration, society, industry and entrepreneurship, to generate development services, such as patents and intellectual property management, and enhance the health system, not just regarding medical assistance but as a generator of economic activity.

Some of its challenges are to attract local and international capital and qualified professionals and to retain talent through innovation, training, quality of life and promotion.

The idea of cluster proposes a development model that is structured geographically and based on social cohesion. BIOPOL, covering an initial development of 300,000 m2, will promote a new space for quality planning and environmental sustainability.
