Biopol’H promotes equal opportunities with “Fem Talent”

Biopol’H took part in the second edition of Fem Talent (Promoting Talent), which was presented by Josep Piqué – chairman of the Catalan Science and Technology Parks Network (XPCAT). Femtalent is a pioneering platform launched by XPCAT in 2009 carrying out innovative measures in terms of equal opportunities and female talent management in the science and technology parks of Catalonia.  

The project provides tools for personal and professional life and opportunities as business strategy. The Science Parks (XPCAT) is the main point of action and the source of knowledge from which to raise awareness towards the empowerment of women in leadership roles.

The second edition of femtalent will carry out five actions, which were explained by their respective leaders:

- Make companies aware of the need and benefit that the new measures of time management and the plans for equality provide to their productivity and economic efficiency.

- Fight vertical segregation - which results in few women occupying decision-making positions with influence - by making performances to detect female talent in the fields of science and technology, women who can have a professional support and a training to get a post in the administration, i.e. the Board of Directors.

- Fight horizontal segregation. Contribute to the inclusion of women in the field of science, technology and innovation through direct action in schools to encourage the scientific and technological vocation in girls and so break stereotypes around them.  

- Display female talent to be put in value and shown to the whole society as a referent and model and then create the critical mass that should bring more women to this sector and to improve its professional profile.

- Social Media Plan. The objective is the mapping of groups and areas taking into consideration, on the one hand, the professional woman and, on the other hand, the female condition. The phases of the process are: identification and integration, talent management, visibility and promotion of equality.
