The healthcare entity Fundació Sociosanitària de Barcelona (FSSB) has signed an agreement to collaborate closely with the Consortium Biopol of L'Hospitalet de Llobregat. With this indefinite term agreement the ties between both organizations are strengthened to cooperate actively in the joint initiatives to achieve an effective coordination of efforts and a better use of their resources.
The signing of this agreement is all part of the wish to use the synergies generated by each of the entities to promote common projects in health, getting the maximum performance and transfer of the results obtained. This is how the creation of partnerships wants to be promoted to develop and strengthen relationships between researchers from both institutions, so that the FSSB researchers will become part of the scientific area of Biopol'H.
The interest of both parties is therefore to create a network of knowledge management. In this respect the agreement leaves the door open to more specific future collaboration agreements for particular projects arising hereafter, or any other activity deemed mutually relevant.
The signing of this collaboration agreement keeps uprising the Consortium Biopol'H toward its goal of achieving an environment of multidisciplinary innovation that has both the infrastructure and personnel material resources needed to promote, encourage and exploit the links between the various entities involved. Biopol'H wants to promote interaction between research and university teaching, the productive, scientific and technological sectors and healthcare activity.
It is precisely with regard to the last aspect – the healthcare - where the Fundació Sociosanitària de Barcelona carries out its activity, since the FSSB works on health and social areas with the mission of serving citizens and the community through the comprehensive health services they offer. The foundation provides social and healthcare assistance and mental health services for outpatient surgery and inpatient hospital admission, including areas like geriatrics and mental health.
