IDIBELL collaborates with the Foundation Step by Step in the investigation of spinal cord injury

IDIBELL has signed a collaboration agreement with the Foundation Step By Step, dedicated to the recovery of spinal injuries, to promote and support new research in the field of spinal cord injury.

The main goal of the collaborations is to create an enabling environment for strengthening research and training in the field of spinal cord injury by holding conferences and scientific events, exchange of researchers, organizing courses, training and teaching in the area of ​​the University of Barcelona, ​​sharing facilities and equipment, as well as participation in joint projects and shared development of innovative health interventions.

Besides IDIBELL, the Vall d'Hebron Reserach Institute (VHIR) has also signed an agreement with the Foundation Step by Step.

The signing of agreements took place in the framework of the annual meeting of the Board of the Foundation Step by Step, and attended by the Founder and President of the Foundation Step by Step, Frederic Crespo, the Director General of IDIBELL, Emilià Pola; the submanager of  Bellvitge University Hospital, Dr. Alfredo Garcia, director of the Foundation University Hospital Vall d'Hebron Research Institute, Dr. Joan X. Comella, and the responsible for institutional development of the University Hospital Vall d'Hebron Research Institute, Carmen Netzel.

Step by Step

Foundation Step by Step (SBS) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the recovery of those with spinal injuries who, once they have passed the stage of rehabilitation hospitals and centers after the accident, choose physiotherapeutic rehabilitation for a better quality of life.
