07/06/2011

On May 13 the Bellvitge University Hospital held like every four months the meeting of Grupo Oligopsonio, a group of reflection and hospital management comprised of 12 major hospitals from most of the autonomous communities, including the HUB.

This meeting was attended by the nurse directors from the Toledo Hospital Complex, Bellvitge University Hospital, San Carlos Clinic Hospital (Madrid), La Fe University Hospital (Valencia), Reina Sofia University Hospital (Cordoba), Galdakao-Usansolo Hospital, Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria University Hospital (Tenerife), Son Dureta University Hospital (Palma), Virgen de la Arrixaca University Hospital (Murcia), Health Consortium of Maresme (Mataró), Pontevedra Hospital Complex and Getafe University Hospital.

The meeting began with the manager of GTMS, Dr Xavier Corbella, welcoming the directors and was followed by an audiovisual presentation of our Hospital and a brief participatory discussion on the management of health services nowadays in our country.

The central topic of the meeting was the definition of the different nursing positions in the management of care from contributions made by the different managers in accordance with the organizational model of management in each hospital.

Grupo Oligopsonio was created by several hospitals in Spain in the late nineties with the idea of sharing professional practices to improve and get great excellence in their healthcare services. They are structured in working teams – quality, cost, benchmarking and nursing directions – in which different experiences and projects are discussed.
