MIT's Vice President for Finance supports Biopol’H project

Last April 16th Núria Marín, mayoress of Hospitalet de Llobregat, welcomed Israel Ruiz, Vice President for Finance of Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Among other issues, she explained one of the most ambitious projects of the city – Biopol’H project.

With a broad experience in science and technology, Israel Ruiz was pleasantly surprised by this project. He undertook to act as consultant to the city council in several aspects, such as the worldwide exposure of Biopol’H area.

Born in Hospital de Llobregat, Israel Ruiz has been MIT's Vice President for Finance since 2007. He advises MIT's senior administration on all financial matters and institutional planning. He had previously joined this Institute in 2001 as manager of financial planning and analysis.

Massachusetts Institute of Technology is one of the main institutions in the USA focused on teaching and research. Both faculty and alumni have been awarded many Nobel Prizes - for instance, the Nobel Prizes in Physics Murray Gell-Mann and Richard Feynman. Another MIT’s professor is Noam Chomsky.
