As the end of the school year 2009-2010, the city council of L’Hospitalet de Llobregat organized the Science and Technology Conferences of secondary education, held in the town to reward the works on research. Professionals of Biopol’H area attended the closing and awards ceremony in this year’s edition, which rewarded 43 projects.
Gabriel Capellà, ICO-IDIBELL researcher, spoke to students about “A medicine for everyone,” a talk where he explained how scientific and research advances are generating an increasingly personalized attention and treatment. The ceremony was also attended by Ramon López, director of Consortium Biopol’H, who explained what Biopol’H area is about to the students of the 12 schools participating in the conferences.
The aim of these conferences is to stimulate research, give a boost to experimentation and innovation in secondary education and to creativity in science and technology as well as to encourage students of secondary schools of L’Hospitalet to develop a research attitude.
