A delegation of 10 professors of Korea Polytechnic University visited the Biopol Consortium at L'Hospitalet de Llobregat last October 21. Interested to see first-hand the performance and objectives of a biocluster, as well as the knowledge transfer between University and industry, the Korean Committee saw the practical applications of the hypobaric chamber and the collaboration between university and industry at Project Barcino, a programme that represents a European challenge as it introduces new technologies in the production of prostheses.
The presentation of the Science and Technology Park of Health Sciences was given by the director of Biopol, Dr. Ramon López.
The full professors of Korea Polytechnic University, whose educational system involves a close collaboration between universities and industry from the start of their academic career, could see the complexity and extent of the Biopol project.
To culminate the visit, the Korean delegation could enjoy a panoramic view from the dome of the Hotel Hesperia Tower, where they could see Bellvitge, the Llobregat junction and Can Trabal, a territory that will become a science district scientist and a green area.
