The delegation of the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce in L’Hospitalet received the visit of the President of Biopol'H, Josep Antoni Bombí, and the General Manager, Ramon López. They had an interview with Joan Martorell, Chairman of the delegation of the Chamber in L’Hospitalet, and the representatives of the area of Competitiveness and Training of the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce with the objective of setting an initial planning for future joint actions.
They established the need to support the process of knowledge transfer by adding value on it and also talked about methods of work and support for researchers, about creating spin-offs or business units and conducting seminars and workshops to enhance the relationship between researchers, business people and entrepreneurs. Moreover, they also found common ground regarding the importance of coordinating efforts to promote the revision of training plans for vocational training and focus them to the new needs of local business and so collaborate to participate in European projects. Researchers and companies will be as well provided with mechanisms to take advantage of the opportunities that may be detected. There is a significant degree of complementarity in the training services provided by the Chamber to the companies with projects carried out by Biopol'H, which makes us continue looking for new ways to use initiatives like Biopol'H to generate employment.
Last April the delegation of the Chamber of Commerce in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat and the Consortium Biopol'H signed an agreement to establish a framework for an ongoing collaboration between both entities to create a favorable environment for the location and creation of new biomedical companies within the Biopol'H area. Likewise, they want to promote innovation as a sign of identity between organizations and companies in this environment.
Some of the objectives set out by this agreement are to spread the services offered to companies located around Biopol'H, cooperate to encourage the promotion of innovation in the activities of organizations and companies and facilitate the national and international popularization of the features of the Biopol'H area.
